A good insurance agent is someone who will promptly answer your questions and genuinely be happy to talk to you. Of course, it is nearly impossible to tell if politeness is genuine, or if the agent is simply looking for business. In reality, there are probably both characteristics in the tone of any insurance agent. That is normal, however, since insurance is a business. They would not be helping you if they did not think they could make money. They would be doing another job to try to pay their bills. So, you really can’t blame them for trying to be friendly in order to impress customers.
Other things you should look for in a good insurance agent is someone who receives recommendations in the community. Ask family and friends who their insurance agents are. They might be able to recommend someone who has a large base of customers, and whose customers are extremely satisfied. This is someone you will probably want to do business with.
